Christmas in July with decorations from Carols of Christmas

I don't know about you, but I always get a good feeling when I am organised and ahead of time, a real sense of accomplishment - it's so much nicer than rushing around at the last minute or even worse missing or forgetting an event.  With that in mind I've done a little more Christmas "pre-work", making this silver embossed card

The baubles are stamped with from the soon to be released Carols of Christmas stamp set, aren't they just gorgeous! I was tempted to add some colour and even a silver layer, but kept to Whisper White and are so pleased with the result.

One of the great things about being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is that we get to see the new catalogue before it’s released to customers – AND we get to order a month in advance, too!

When you join my Stampin’ Up! team, you can select your choice of $235 of product for just $169 – that’s a great deal in itself, but it gets even better this July -  you ALSO receive a great bundle of stamping essentials (two D blocks, Grid Paper, Paper Snips, SNAIL Adhesive and a Bone Folder) plus The Carols of Christmas stamp set all for FREE.  What a deal!  If you’d like to join today, CLICK HERE.

If you have questions or require more information, please contact to me at misspinkscraftspot@gmail.com.  This amazing promotion ends July 31. Here’s a look at this awesome new stamp set:

I love making invitations, I did my own Wedding, and had heaps of fun creating a kitty themed invitation for my daughter's first school birthday party, I also carried the theme through into her birthday party and gift bags!

I don't have any family events coming up at the moment, so I made this beautiful Baptism invitation using the Inspired Events stamp set

There are so many things that I love about this set:
  • the font for each event - just beautiful
  • the corner decorations
  • two step stamping for the flowers
  • and the background - oh my, I fell for that the first time I saw it!

Super Quick on Sunday

I've got a quick and simple card for you today, I don't know if it is because the sun is shining or my cold is beginning to fade, but inspiration found it's way to me and I just had to put ink to paper.

This card was super quick to make, two stamps and a little colour and it is done!

This cute little butterfly is from the Garden Girl stamp set, I love the little spiral trial, and thought it would lovely to join it to the Hello sentiment from Eastern Beauty

I coloured the butterfly using my Stampin' Write Markers, you could also use Water Colour pencils too. I decided to add a little bling with iridescent sequins - I love how these come in 3 different sizes.

Don't forget, to make the most of Bonus Day's in June, there are less than 10 days left to take advantage of this offer and earn a $9 voucher for every $90 you spend in my store.

Ink it! Stampit! Blog Hop - Using Embossing Paste

Welcome to the Ink it! Stamp it! Blog Hop. The Design Team have been busy making projects using specific techniques. The full line up below will guide you through all the projects and we'd love to hear from you on what your favourite technique is.

Once you know a technique you can use it over and over again, for example I can't image card making without the masking technique, it is almost second nature to me lol!  I am still working on water colour backgrounds, and using bleach just scares me silly.  Today I am sharing a project with you using Embossing Paste - a new product in the 2017-2018 Catalogue, it's great way to add colour and texture to your project in your own custom way!

Now if you know me, you know I love a little bling, so I stepped up my project to include glitter

I will admit that this didn't turn out quite to plan, I spritzed some coloured water onto the paste, but my colour was to diluted to make a difference to the colour of the paste, but never fear, glitter to the rescue - it looks fab even without the touch of green I was trying for in the background!

I used the Beautiful Bouquet Bundle for this spectacular bunch of flowers, wrapping Berry Burst Finely Woven ribbon around the stems and attaching the bow separately. There are 21 framelits, so no fussy cutting with this bunch!

Here's a quick video tutorial of how I used the Embossing Paste for this project:

Some key things to remember when using Embossing Paste:
  • try not to leave little bits around the top of your jar, it will dry out
  • a single drop of colour goes along way - remember less can be more!
  • you only need to apply a light coat over your stencil
  • wash your stencil and palette knife as soon as possible
  • it drys quicker than you think

There are LOTS of different ways to use Embossing Paste, you can also create your own stencils, or if you are really adventurous you don't even need a stencil - I have a plan to use glitter emboss paste on Christmas Trees, stay tuned to see that!

Thank you so much for joining us today. We hope that you'll join us again next month to see our 3D projects. Be sure to hop around and see all the great techniques we have to show you, you are currently at Sue Vine, see the list below to see who is up next.
