Ink it! Stamp it! Ombre Stamping Technique

Welcome to the Ink it! Stamp it! Blog Hop. This month we will be sharing projects using some of our favourite Techniques. The full line up below will guide you through all the projects and we'd love to hear from you on what your favourite technique is?

Today I am showing what I call the "Ombre Stamping Technique", it's how I create these lovely images stamping these flowers, and I adore the effect this technique creates!

The materials for this technique are:
  • Ink pads, I've used Powder Pink, Fresh Fig and Elegant Eggplant
  • Sponge Daubers - use a separate one for each ink pad
  • cardstock, whisper white, very vanilla or a very light or pastel colour
  • and of course your stamp!
Now for the process:
  1. Select the lighted colour first, ink up your dauber, and apply to the centre of the flower on your stamp
  2. use the next darkest colour, ink up your dauber, and apply to the stamp, being careful to leave some of the middle (lightest ink) untouched
  3. ink up with the darkest colour, and apply to the edge of the stamp
  4. lightly breath on your stamp, warm breath will moisten the ink if it has dried out a little - the dauber applies only a thin layer of ink
  5. Stamp onto your card stock - there you have it, your "Ombre Stamped Flower"
If you are partial to bling, you can also apply some Wink of Stella - of course I have! I also added Wink of Stella to my embossed background, it looks better in "the flesh", but you can see a hint of the glimmer below.

I used the floral embossing folder from the Petal Pair set for my background, then cut and layered my flowers from the Cake Soiree set, and the foliage from the coordinating Sweet Cake Framelits

Here's a quick tutorial of the Ombre Stamping Technique, enjoy!

All about Love with Stampin Friends

Hello and welcome to the first Stampin Friends Blog Hop for 2018! This month our theme is "All about Love"

There is so much to love in this years Occasions Catalogue, and in preparation for that day of Love in February I've created a special card and gift box for the one I love featuring the Petal Passion Suite.

What's not to love about this suite! I adore the gorgeous brush stroke images and font, the coordinating dies are just beautiful, and the Memories and More card pack is stunning and matches to the Designer Series paper, the suite has it all.

I choose traditional Red, Black and White for my projects, after all red is the colour of passion. My card and gift box feature one of the lovely prints in the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper, and the 2 little love birds are from the Petal Passion Memories and More pack, I just added the enamel heart.

The sentiment is stamped from the Petal Palette stamp set, and cut using a framelit from the coordinating Petals & MoreThinlets, and how about that gorgeous detailed die cut, it's great for adding an extra element to your card..... and gift box.

Speaking of the gift box, the Silver Mini Gable Boxes are also new in the Occasions catalogue, pre-cut and scored you can put them together in a jiffy, wrap in Designer Series paper, add some ribbon, or a tag and your have your gift backpacked - I LOVE these!

Grab a cuppa and work you way through the bloggers below, I'm sure you will be inspired - if you have time we would love if you leave a comment, we love receiving comments!

Happy Wedding Day with Sweet Soiree - SDBH Jan - Love Theme

Welcome to the Love themed Stampin Dreams Blog Hop, I'm sure you will lots of inspiring creations, so grab a cuppa and sit back and work your way through the entire line up.

I love versatility, and the Sweet Soiree Suite gives you just that!

Sweet Soiree Suite by Stampin' Up!

It is perfect for so many special occasions, Birthday, Mothers Day, Anniversary, and how about this for a Wedding:

I decided to give my card a copper and pastel combination, using the Cake Soiree bundle I heat embossed the line art image of the floral cake, die cut, then coloured using Stampin Blends Light and Dark Pink Pirouette with light Old Olive, isn't the result just gorgeous!

I was out of Copper Foil, so improvised and used Copper Embossing powder on the Cake Stand die cuts, they turned out amazing, and I love how you can manipulate the Copper Trim - so easy to get your bow perfect (and I can be a little bow challenged at times).

The 6 x 6 size is perfect for this design, the smaller layer is  scored  a 1/4 inch from all sides for added detail and popped up with foam adhesive strips, with the cake also adhered with Dimensionals.

You are currently visiting Sue Vine - MissPink, to continue your way through the line up work your way through the below list, and if you have time please leave a comment, we love hearing from you:

Sale-A-Bration & Occasions Catalogue | Kylie's International Blog Highlight

Hello, today you are in for a treat, sit back and enjoy all the projects we have created using products from the 2018 Occaions and Sale-A-Bration catalogues with Kylie Bertucci's International blog highlight.

I've made my card using the Friendship's Sweetest Thoughts Stamp set, as soon as I saw this set it went on my wish list!

I've also used the gorgeous Shimmery White Embossing paste to create my brick background, it is just stunning, a must have if you are partial to a little "bling".  I mask the area where I would stamp my image by die cutting an oval, then laid on the decorative mask and went to work spreading the Shimmery Embossing paste, when it had dried I re-positioned the mask and gently sponged crumb cake onto the bricks, it really made them pop and looks like an arch way!

I stamped my image and coloured using watercolour pencils with a blender pen, then added a little Wink of Stella to tie into the shimmery brick wall element. Lastly I added the sentiment, don't you just adore the font, I know I do, here are all the beautiful vintage images and sentiments this set has on offer
